Ear waxing

Imagine this...It's about midnight.. You stick a waxy, cone-shaped 8inch tube in your ear and lite the other end in hopes that the heat and smoke will draw the wax out of your ear. You wait until the tube burns down to around 3 inches. You hear that this works for hearing loss. So after you complete the instructions..you are curious to see your earwax..so you unwrap the cone to see what is inside... You discover some rather large sized clumps of yellow wax. First thought, "OHHHH this really works." Although I didn't notice a change in my hearing, and neither did my sister Marian. Ashley insisted that the directions said you may need to try this several times for hearing loss. "Once was enough for me, until I consult my phsician about this" I told Ashley.

The next time we got together with Marian she gave me two more cones for my ears, I just wanted to keep them for a funny memory...then later she called and told me she heard they were a hoax. On Sunday after church I had Cody hold the tube in his hand and burn it down to size so we could look inside...What do you think we found...Surprise, Surprise! Yellow Ear Wax.

The laughter we shared that nite was worth the hoax. Check out the pictures! Marian was looking into my ear for more wax...she told me to plug my nose and blow to see if it would push out more wax. We laughed until we cried. Thanks for the pictures Ashley..

The Driving range with Brett

Hey...did I hit the ball?
We had a putting competition... I think I won.. ask dad or Brett.

This summer we had a great time at the driving range with Brett. He has an awesome swing with a great deal of consistancy. This looks like a sport he would be very good at. More than that though...we just loved being with him. I watched a little bit of the golf channel the other day, and want to try this stategy with putting that was being taught. I couldn't hit many balls out the last time we went because of my back...but I'm looking forward to the next spring now that my back feels pretty good. We love spending time with Brett, I just need to get my camera out more when we are together. Does anyone else in the fam like to golf? Thought it might be fun in the summer to do a day out on the golf course...Let us know.

Ashley's Baby Shower from Church

Carol & Ashley (Carol is one of the ladies who put the shower on for Ashley...I admire & love Carol)
Ruth and Ashley (Ruth is the other lady who put the shower on for Ashley.) Pray for Ruth as she will be having hip surgery in a couple of days. Ruth is a Proverbs 31 woman.

This diaper game was so funny. We had to guess the brand of candy bar in 5 different diapers. Watching ladies smell the diaper was hilarious.
Ashley is first in line...I guess because she was the guest of honor... She is so adorable!

These ladies are incredible! We are so blessed to be a part of the Holton UMC. They have loved, prayed and supported Ashley & Cody. We are all blessed to have each other.
